Department of Anesthesiology

The Anesthesiology Department of Shanghai International Medical Center (SIMC) is staffed by more than ten highly credentialed anesthesiologists, each with over a decade of clinical experience at Grade 3A hospitals. It is one of the few clinical departments in Shanghai capable of delivering perioperative anesthesia management for patients of all ages. Guided by an individualized approach to anesthesia care, the department has established a comprehensive perioperative management system spanning preoperative assessment, intraoperative monitoring, postoperative analgesia, and critical care management. Its pediatric anesthesia program is highly developed, administering anesthesia to over 800 children aged 0–6 each year. The department is also equipped to provide surgical anesthesia for terminally ill and critically ill patients, offering robust support for the surgical treatment of high-risk and severe cases. Built upon outstanding clinical expertise and supported by advanced monitoring equipment, the department selects rigorously screened, highly safe anesthetic agents to minimize the risk of anesthesia-related complications, delivering safe and reliable anesthesia services to patients.
